Ken reads Stephen Jay Gould. He quotes Dawkins. My dear LDS wife gets nervous with me reading Bill Bryson and Jared Diamond around the house, and I'm not even a member anymore. Of course maybe her defensiveness comes because I'm no longer a member, but it does seem Ken's coming from a healthier place than many an LDS family.
I'm reading the responses at FriendlyAtheist and thinking how convivial the conversation has been, then I get to the last one:

I saw a homegrown play at BYU once--I think it was one of Eric Samuelson's--where one of the characters was an LDS scholar-dad type who keeps annoying his kids with his pet theories about how Jared Diamond applies to the Book of Mormon.
I'm not too offended about being compared to a mouse. Is it because I don't really have any eyebrows? I don't think mice have eyebrows. I don't have mouse teeth, but I do like cheese.
